February 9th 2010: Traverse Bay Christian School Raises Funds for Haiti
After the earthquake in Haiti the students at Traverse Bay Christian School rallied together to raise support for the crippled nation. Two Fridays in a row they brought in whatever money they wished to bring. Some brought a little, some brought a lot, and some emptied their piggy-banks into the collection box as they stated to the principal, "Mr. Harding, this is all the money I have."
On Tuesday, Sara Petit-Frere and Jason Petit-Frere (Pastor Jean's two oldest children) visited Traverse Bay Christian School and shared with them about their home, their school, and their church in Haiti. They also shared with them what had happened in the earthquake. It was a great time of learning and sharing the cultural beauty of Haiti. At the end of the presentation the principal, Jason Harding, presented Sara and Jason with the moneys that had been raised.
Shabach Ministries is so thankful to all the students at Traverse Bay Christian for their joyfully given gift and for the example of generosity that they exhibited. Your gift will do great good.
