January 12th 2010: Magnitude 7.0 earthquake hits Haiti near Port-au-Prince

As many of you know there was a magnitude 7.0 earthquake in Haiti January 12, 2010 at about 5:00pm.  First off, Jean Marcia, and Matthew are all okay as of 7:00pm on the 12th.  They were able to contact the United States for a brief time and let us know that they were okay.

At that time the church was still standing, their home was still standing, and the school was still standing.  The only thing that collapsed was some block work and a wood/metal roof on top of the school.
The earthquake was the most powerful to hit Haiti in the past 200 years.  The epicenter of the quake was about 10 miles west of Port-au-Prince.  Carrefour, Delmas, and Port-au Prince are the cities that were the hardest hit.  The main campus of Shabach Ministries is located in Carrefour.  It is a miracle that the ministry's facilities are still standing.

There are many casualties and the church body of Family Tabernacle of Praise will undoubtedly be affected.  Please keep them in your prayers.
